Yep.. Quality.
That's what I like about Declan.. he is humble.. knows the score that lad.

He was immense Friday night.. but no arrogance with him, just a decent lad.

Lucky to have him

Great bit at the end of Behind The Scenes when Declan is selfie filming a little clip, messes it up and laughs and shouts Irons across Elland Road.

The truth is the media won't be happy until Declans out of whufc. This clubs got far too much potential for there liking . It's entirely up to Sullivan. he either does the best for the club and sells up. Or holds on to please the North London clubs and the media made russian.mafia funded fake threat chelsea.

Re: ⚽ Leeds v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Rice was the best player on the park last night absolutely bossed the game.
He could literally play for any team in the world I’d be astounded if we managed to hold onto him for another 12 months
People saying they don’t get the fawning over Leeds can’t of watched them much they are a fantastic team when you consider the quality of players they have. I’ve seen them come up against some top teams and go toe to toe with what amounts to a load of top tier championship players, Philips is the only player that anyone decent would want. You have to credit the manager even bamford looks like a prem striker when he is just a journeyman championship player in truth.
But like I said in my earlier post Moyes killed him tactically last night by sitting benrahma on Philips it just nullified their counter attacks and they didn’t really have a plan B.
As I said IMO our best performance under Moyes if you factor in we had one of the worst Centreforwards on the planet up top, injuries forced a complete change of formation and going a goal down after 2 mins.
If we can get Antonio fit for a few months or manage to get somebody who’s at least resembles a striker we’ll have a pretty decent team. This team reminds me of the 2006 team hardworking with plenty of young hungry players that actually play like a proper team.

wd40 - I agree, Rice was outstanding again. The Telegraph, however, gave him the same rating as Haller (6).

That’s such a nonsense. Same as their offside rule of flagging after the move ends.

It does nothing for the game.

..Agreed nychammer...missed chances..yes,,,but..chances were created. We fought back ..at..Leeds and one goal down.

Penalties..the rule Must be revised. A penalty line just behind the goal line is a possibility...a goal keeper must move if even a little.

It was a poor kick and was going to be saved by Fab..come what may. To have is chalked off was just a travesty.

This whole VAR..MUST...be revised...

It is spoiling the beautiful game...

Re: ⚽ Leeds v West Ham - Official Match Thread
So the actual laws of the game are different, depending whether VAR is in place?

In my game on Thursday, if there had been a penalty, I wouldn't have been allowed to encroach, but, if VAR had been there, I would have been, so long as I didn't materially affect the game?

So, if VAR is present, are foul throws allowed, so long as the foul doesn't lead to an advantage? If not, why not?

Re: ⚽ Leeds v West Ham - Official Match Thread
and the Premier League VAR guide on penalties also says:-

" A clear and obvious error by the on-field match officials relating to goalkeeper movement".

Re: ⚽ Leeds v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Laws according to the commentators and according to FIFA are different.

FIFA's law on penalties doesn't mention "material impact" at all, let alone in the context of encroachment.

Correct.

But the Premier League guide to VAR usage, does mention material impact, with encroachment at penalty kicks.

"For player encroachment in the box, it is now judged on any part of a player’s body that is on the ground when the kick is taken.

Therefore, if any part of the foot is on the penalty area or arc line it is encroachment. The player must still have a material impact on the outcome of the kick."

Strangely, though, it seems the commentator's rules apply...

Re: ⚽ Leeds v West Ham - Official Match Thread
I thought we were well worth our win yesterday and showed some character to bounce back from last weeks disappointing show. Leeds are a dangerous side going forward and my head dropped when we gave them the perfect start, but we came back and all credit to Moyes and the team.
My one concern is that we don’t have the goals in this side without a fully fit Antonio and unless Haller finds his touch in front of goal we must be in the market for a striker come January. I actually thought he played ok and was perhaps unlucky not to score in the end but he has to start converting chances, maybe. I’d a confidence thing, idk. Benrahma will be a stand our player for us based on yesterday’s showing.

Plenty of positives from yesterday. Let’s keep it going. COYI!
